Edwards Engineering completes the installation of a new Cimbria dryer for Alexander Inglis and Sons

Edwards Engneering is pleased to announce that it has completed the installation of a new Cimbria grain dryer for Alexander Inglis and Sons. The company dries and stores in the region of 100,000 tonnes of malting barley each year at its 10-acre site in St. Boswells.

To ensure a more productive and a cleaner and more modernised environment, Edwards installed a new continuous flow Cimbria AMG-22 dryer. Edwards managed to recycle old components from the existing dryer such as the concrete foundation, cat walks, feed and discharge elevators to comply with the new design and save costs. The new dryer now holds five 30kW dust extraction fans and is connected to new discharge routes to the series of storage silos.

Commenting on the installation, Technical Director at Alexander Inglis and Sons, Colin Wright, said "We have worked with Edwards at a number of our sites over the years and have always found them professional, creative in their solutions thinking and very operationally capable. The installation at Charlesfield was under tight budgets and timelines and we are very satisfied with the outcome."
